I earned my bachelor’s degree in Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology from West Virginia University and am currently completing my master’s degree in Performance, Sport, and Exercise Psychology at the University of Illinois Chicago. I am also working toward becoming a Certified Mental Performance Consultant® (CMPC).
Throughout my experience, I’ve had the opportunity to work with professional athletes, NCAA Division I, II, and III athletes and teams, youth and recreational athletes, and individuals competing at various levels of sport and performance. My consulting experience spans a wide range of sports, including basketball, softball, baseball, football, soccer, volleyball, gymnastics, cheerleading, swimming, wrestling, powerlifting, track and field, distance running, cycling, and other endurance sports. Beyond traditional athletics, I also work with dancers, musicians, actors, musical theatre performers, DJs, students, business executives, and other individuals navigating high-pressure performance environments.
One of my favorite populations to work with is injured and rehabilitating athletes. I’m especially passionate about supporting athletes throughout the entire injury timeline, from navigating the initial emotional and psychological challenges of an injury to building confidence during rehabilitation and preparing for a successful return to sport. I also enjoy helping athletes work through mental blocks, fear of reinjury, performance hesitation, and challenges with trusting their abilities again. I find this area of mental performance particularly rewarding because it allows me to support athletes not only in returning to their sport, but also in rebuilding their confidence, resilience, and sense of self along the way.
My work includes individual consulting, team workshops, and mental skills training focused on building confidence, managing pressure, strengthening resilience, improving concentration, developing effective routines, and fostering a healthier relationship with performance.
One of my most memorable experiences was serving on the Psyching Team at the Chicago Marathon, where I had the opportunity to support runners as they crossed the finish line of one of the world's largest marathons. Our team remained at the finish line through the very last finishers, providing encouragement, psychological support, and assistance to runners experiencing a wide range of physical and emotional responses. Meeting and supporting inspiring individuals from around the world made this an incredibly rewarding and unique experience. It further reinforced my passion for the intersection of mental performance, endurance, resilience, and the powerful role that psychological support can play before, during, and after significant performance moments.
I've also had the opportunity to expand my perspective internationally through sport and exercise psychology research and applied experiences at Halmstad University in Sweden. During this experience, I explored differences in sport psychology practice between Europe and North America, worked with high-level and Olympic athletes, and delivered mental performance workshops to youth sport programs. These experiences have strengthened my appreciation for the diverse ways mental performance can be applied across cultures, populations, and performance environments.
As a former multisport athlete, my own experiences have played a significant role in shaping my passion for mental performance. Growing up, I participated in basketball, softball, soccer, volleyball, track and field, cheerleading, and gymnastics, while also being involved in musical theatre and band. I also spent over 10 years as a competitive dancer. Having experienced both athletic and artistic performance environments firsthand, I understand the excitement, challenges, expectations, and mental demands that come with pursuing something you're passionate about. Those experiences shaped my belief that performance is about more than physical ability. It's about the person behind the performance.
My approach is collaborative, evidence-informed, and personalized to each individual's goals, experiences, and performance environment. I believe mental performance consulting should feel approachable, empowering, and relevant to everyday life. Whether you're preparing for a big moment, working through a setback, navigating pressure, or simply looking to grow, my goal is to help you develop practical mental skills that extend beyond your sport, stage, career, or performance environment.
At Performaura, I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to discover what they're capable of when their mind works with them, not against them.
Your Mind. Your Moment.
